A game made really quickly for FishFest!

Angler is sick of living at the bottom of the sea and wants to see the world, all of it! Spin Angler up to build momentum and then launch straight into orbit, picking up a jetpack along the way.

You'll increase your score for the total time spent in space, but also gain a multiplier for every orbit of the planet you complete, so time your throw and your jetpack usage accordingly, you only have limited fuel.

Tip: For the best score you'll want to angle your throw close to the planet and use gravity to keep your speed up, tap the Jetpack at the right time to boost away when needed. My record is 11 orbits!

Controls:

  • When still in the sea, use the crank to wind up Anglers speed, and then quickly press B or A at the perfect angle to jump into orbit.
  • When in orbit press B or A to fire the Jetpack, time it perfectly to counter your rotation and help boost around the planet.
  • Menu button for a quick restart if your trip goes wrong!

Installing:

  • Log in to your Playdate Account at play.date.
  • Go to your Account page.
  • Go to the Sideload page.
  • Drag or select the .pdx game file (or zipped .pdx) to upload it.

Read full instructions, and other options to sideload games on the Playdate website!

Don't have a Playdate but want to play this game? You can! You'll need to install the Playdate SDK, and once installed you can unzip the game file, and double click the PDX file inside to start playing.

Ooof, I might need to adjust the scoring system a little then, looks like blasting off into space is the current highscore meta :D

This is very cool! You really need to use the jet pack carefully. My best so far is 7 orbits with a score of 31992 :)

Improved to 10 orbits now…
